“Serving as Governor of California is a great honor — and an immense responsibility.  It is a demanding job that calls for great personal sacrifice.  Governors are chief executives.  They must be team builders and, above all, team leaders able to make difficult decisions, requiring real strength and resolve.  Meg Whitman has been tested and has proven herself to be an extraordinary chief executive, a strong leader of great achievements building eBay and creating a new global marketplace.  Before eBay, she had a 25-year career of exceptional managerial success in a variety of business challenges.  She has produced sound budgets, met many payrolls, and created literally thousands of jobs.
