Meg engages Latinos in her campaign, launches coalition

On Tuesday, at an event at Cielito Lindo Restaurant in South El Monte, Meg Whitman announced 15 Latino statewide and regional coalition co-chairs as part of her Latino Coalition.

About one in five California voters is Latino and Meg believes their voice is powerful and cannot be ignored. The coalition will work to engage Latinos in the Republican Party and involve them in unprecedented ways.

State Attorney General Jerry Brown is the only major Democrat still running for governor of California next year, and now he’s tied with Republican hopeful Meg Whitman at 41% each in the latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in the state.

Three percent of California voters favor some other gubernatorial candidate, and 14% are undecided.

CUPERTINO – Meg Whitman, Republican candidate for Governor, today announced the endorsement of former Lieutenant Governor Ed Reinecke. He served as Lieutenant Governor of California under Ronald Reagan from 1969 to 1974.

"Meg Whitman is a proven fiscal conservative who can lead California back to prosperity,” Reinecke said. “She embodies the values of Ronald Reagan. She is a staunch supporter of small businesses.
